Join VOAC
Two ways in: as a professional who joins the network, or as a young person who wants a mentor in it.
Join as a professional
VOAC is looking for African professionals, roughly 22–35, in media, agriculture, education, enterprise and the arts — people with a working skill and the will to point it at a problem a community has actually named.
Honest expectations, before you apply:
- This is unpaid volunteer work. There is no budget, no stipend, and no legal entity yet.
- Expect roughly 6–10 hours a month, from your phone, around a day job — more if you claim a problem.
- It is early. You would be joining twelve people and a method, not an institution.
- What you get: a continental network of peers, real problems matched to your actual skill, your work published under your name, and a say in what VOAC becomes.
Existing members and what they can help with are listed openly on the members page — that is who you would be working alongside.
Find a mentor
If you are 16–24 and want to grow in media, agriculture, education, enterprise or the arts, VOAC members mentor the generation behind them. 0 members currently have mentorship open.
What mentorship involves:
- A named mentor in your discipline, one conversation or working session a month, for six months at a time.
- Real tasks from real loops where possible — not homework invented for you.
- It is free, and it is a commitment: mentors are volunteers, so showing up matters.
