About VOAC
Voice of African Continent is a network of skilled African professional youth, formed by international delegates at the close of the Orange Youth Festival, Accra, 23 August 2026 — 12 founding members across 6 countries, working in media, agriculture, education, enterprise and the arts.
Mission
To unite young African professionals across media, agriculture, education, enterprise and the arts — telling our own stories, building solutions to the problems those stories reveal, and mentoring the generation behind us.
Vision
An Africa whose story is told by Africans, whose problems are solved by Africans, and whose future is built by the hands and voices of its own youth.
Our story
Twelve delegates left a youth festival in Accra with the same frustration: the stories told about our communities are not told by them, and the problems inside those stories go unrouted to the people who could act. VOAC exists to close that gap — story by story, loop by loop.
How we work
One loop: a story gathered from a community nobody covers, the problem named by the people living it, a response routed to the member with the relevant skill, and an outcome — verified and published, including when it fails.
Our role
We are tellers, builders and mentors — not spokespeople for the communities we work with, and not a funder. Subjects are named, credited and quoted; nothing is published without their recorded consent and a copy in their hands.
Governance and legal status
- Legal status
- Not yet incorporated. VOAC is currently a voluntary network, not a legal entity. Incorporation — and the jurisdiction it happens in — is a decision before the founding twelve now. Until it is done, we do not use the word “organisation” in a legal sense, and we do not accept money.
- Funding
- None. Members are unpaid volunteers with day jobs. The site asks for skills, equipment, transport, translation and introductions — not donations.
- The founding twelve
- 12 members across 6 countries. Members who have individually consented to be named appear on the members page; the rest are counted but not named, by their own choice.
- Editorial control
- Every story involving a named private individual requires a second member's approval before publication, and every story can be withdrawn by its subject at any time.
No partners are listed because no partnership agreement yet exists. A logo appears here when an agreement is signed — not because a conversation happened.
